Position Highlights
The Eller College of Management is seeking a Technical Student Project Strategist who serves as the primary liaison between the Eller College of Management Partnerships Office and industry sponsors, directing and overseeing student experiential learning and real-world project engagements. This position synthesizes cross-disciplinary technical knowledge to align student project deliverables with industry standards and emerging trends. The Strategist coaches student teams through technical evaluation, risk assessment, and solution development while ensuring project quality, stakeholder satisfaction, and academic excellence. This role works independently to manage multiple concurrent projects and serves as a strategic advisor to both students and EPO leadership.

Duties & Responsibilities
Student Career Development and Technical Project Oversight
- Directs and oversees day-to-day activities for student experiential learning and real-world project(s), including but not limited to: administration, information technology, compliance, and communications with project sponsors and students, bridging the gap between academia and industry practices.
- Reviews and assesses student teams' solutions and monitors project plans, milestones, scopes, schedules, timelines, and deliverables; identifies and reports potential risks and issues to EPO leadership with risk mitigation solutions and recommendations.
- Synthesizes technical industry knowledge and research from multiple educational fields to align project deliverables with emerging industry trends and enhance student deliverable expertise.
- Coaches student performance through regular technical evaluation, helping assess knowledge accuracy against industry expectations and driving course correction as needed to ensure project excellence, student growth, and stakeholder satisfaction.
- Consults with students in the design and development of project solutions (e.g., databases, documentation, policies, and procedures).Analyzes industry trends on emerging best practices, technology, and research to align project solutions with targeted market standards.
Strategic Relationship Building and Communication
- Cultivates and maintains long-term relationships and collaborations with project sponsor(s), student teams, and EPO leadership.
- Performs research and analysis to compile accurate and educationally beneficial project scopes and deliverables.
- Negotiates project outcomes and scope with project sponsor(s) to secure realistic, reasonable agreements that are in alignment with student education focuses and project objectives.
- Facilitates weekly meetings with sponsor(s) and coordinates final presentation and deliverable sessions.
- Evaluates project(s) for academic outcomes, bridging multiple disciplines to ensure student education and development contribute to overall academic success.
Strategic Student Teams Capabilities Assessment
- Sets the standards and criteria for high-quality applicant selection.
- Reviews competitive student application pools for the program, selecting high-quality applicants.
- Thoroughly assesses student team skillsets, knowledge, and abilities for the creation of competency-based, multifaceted project teams.
- Collaborates with faculty, colleges, departments, and stakeholders utilizing expert-level knowledge of industry standards to match student skills with complex project requirements.
Knowledge
- Extensive knowledge of experiential learning models, project-based education frameworks, and student development best practices within a higher education setting.
- Strong knowledge of industry standards, emerging technologies, and best practices across multiple technical sectors to align student deliverables with real-world market expectations.

- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with demonstrated ability to effectively engage various audiences including students, faculty, industry sponsors, and senior leadership.
- Strong negotiation and relationship-building skills, with the ability to cultivate and sustain long-term partnerships with industry sponsors and institutional stakeholders.
- Demonstrated skill in assessing student competencies and building multidisciplinary, competency-based teams aligned with complex project requirements.
- Proficiency in project planning, risk assessment, milestone tracking, and deliverable management across multiple concurrent projects.

- Strong analytical and research skills, with the ability to synthesize information across multiple disciplines and apply findings to program and project strategy.

Minimum Qualifications

In compliance with the Jeanne Clery Campus Safety Act (Clery Act), each year the University of Arizona releases an Annual Security Report (ASR) for each of the University's campuses.Thesereports disclose information including Clery crime statistics for the previous three calendar years and policies, procedures, and programs the University uses to keep students and employees safe, including how to report crimes or other emergencies and resources for crime victims.
