Job description

Practice Highlights:Saint Alphonsus Medical Group (SAMG) is a physician led and accountable 650+ provider multispecialty group that has an excellent opportunity for a clinician to join an established Infectious Disease department on the Saint Alphonsus Regional Medical Center campus in Boise. Additionally, this Provider will have a dual opportunity to contribute to Inpatient Infection Control as the Medical Director for that specialty. This role will help build our Infectious Disease and Infection Prevention programs, with their primary location on the Boise hospital campus. Join our growing Provider team and excellent support staff. We utilize EPIC for our EHR.

Specific duties include but are not limited to the following: direct involvement in managing our list of OPAT patients, conduct follow-up evaluations for patients referred for Infectious Disease management; follow-through on physician's plan of care; order & interpret appropriate diagnostic testing and labs; prescribe appropriate treatment and conduct patient education; chairs Infection Prevention Committee; collaborates and consults with health care providers in the assessment and management of patients and colleagues with communicable diseases; provides oversight of surveillance for healthcare-associated infections.

In the Treasure Valley, youre minutes away from skiing at Bogus Basin, fishing the Boise River, hiking the foothill trails, rafting a number of nearby rivers, and biking both road and mountain routes.

Requirements:
  • Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathy (DO) degree
  • Successful completion of an accredited Internal Medicine residency program
  • Successful completion of an accredited Infectious Disease fellowship
  • Board certified in Internal Medicine and Infectious Disease or obtain such certification within 3 years of employment
  • Obtain Idaho medical licensure to practice medicine in all its phases
  • Valid controlled substance registration with Idaho Boards of Pharmacy & DEA
  • 2 years of experience in Infection Control or Infectious Disease preferred
