Job description

An established law firm is seeking an Associate Attorney with an interest in Immigration Law and Personal Injury. The ideal candidate thrives in a courtroom environment, provides effective guidance and direction to support staff, and is eager to gain valuable experience in court appearances, motion practice, legal argument, and trial work. Immigration law experience is preferred but not required. Some travel within Arizona may be required.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Represent clients in court for hearings, dockets, trials, and other proceedings.

  • Prepare and review pleadings, motions, discovery requests, and responses.

  • Conduct legal research and draft legal memoranda and other legal documents.

  • Review and approve pleadings prior to filing.

  • Evaluate and review new cases.

  • Conduct client intake meetings and case assessments.

  • Collaborate with legal staff to ensure efficient case management.

  • Maintain professional communication with clients, opposing counsel, and the courts.

Qualifications:

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school.

  • Active license to practice law (Arizona license preferred).

  • Prior litigation experience preferred.

  • Immigration law experience preferred but not required.

  • Spanish language proficiency is a plus.

  • Strong legal research, writing, and advocacy skills.

  • Excellent organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.

  • Ability to manage multiple cases in a fast-paced environment.

  • Must maintain all required continuing legal education (CLE) requirements.
