Job description

Job Title: Human Resources Specialist
Job Description
We are seeking a dedicated HRIS Specialist to join our HR team. This role involves intermediate administrative duties and advanced clerical tasks to support the HR department. Key responsibilities include managing HRIS data entry, onboarding, recruitment support, leave administration, and company policy enforcement. The ideal candidate will act as a primary point of contact for HR-related inquiries, providing exceptional support and maintaining confidentiality.
Responsibilities
  • Administer day-to-day operations of the HRIS.
  • Support HR Generalists with complex administrative tasks, including report generation, job descriptions, recruitment postings, and leave of absence processing.
  • Maintain internal employee files and training records, overseeing personnel changes such as transfers, terminations, and promotions.
  • Administer temporary employee records, including auditing and orientation support.
  • Assist with exit interviews and new hire orientations.
  • Conduct research to address employee inquiries.
  • Ensure confidentiality of HR-related information, with potential exposure to HIPAA data.

Essential Skills
  • High school diploma required, college degree preferred.
  • 4+ years of HR-related experience or training.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, with advanced Excel skills including pivot tables, VLOOKUPs, and chart creation.
  • Proficiency in HRIS platforms, with UKG experience preferred.
  • Strong organizational skills and familiarity with state and federal employment law.
  • Ability to maintain strict confidentiality.

Additional Skills & Qualifications
  • PHR certification preferred.
  • Familiarity with HIPAA and US Export Control regulations (ITAR/EAR).
  • Expirience in the manufacturing industry is a plus.

Work Environment
This position requires onsite work Monday through Friday from 8am to 5pm in Kearny Mesa. The HR team consists of 10 members in a collaborative and adaptive environment. The role involves occasional exposure to moderate noise levels and moving mechanical parts in a manufacturing setting. The team values adaptability, an outgoing personality, and the ability to implement process improvements patiently.
Job Type & Location
This is a Contract to Hire position based out of San Diego, CA.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $27.00 - $34.00/hr.
Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
