Heart Transplant & Cardiothoracic Surgeon – Newark Beth Israel Medical Center
RWJBarnabas Health’s Northern Department of Cardiothoracic Surgery seeks a highly skilled surgeon to join the Heart Failure and Transplant Program.
Responsibilities
- Perform heart transplantations and participate in donor procurement
- Manage temporary and durable mechanical circulatory support (MCS) devices, including ventricular assist devices (VAD), LVAD/RVAD, and ECMO
- Provide comprehensive surgical care across the full spectrum of adult cardiothoracic surgery
- Serve as an operative leader in heart transplantation and contribute to program growth across RWJBH Northern affiliates
Qualifications
- Fellowship-trained in cardiothoracic surgery, with specialized experience in heart transplantation, ventricular assist devices, and complex cardiac surgery
- Strong operative skill set in adult cardiothoracic procedures
- Demonstrated ability to collaborate within multidisciplinary teams
Compensation & Benefits
Competitive salary range: $550,000 – $700,000, based on education, skills, and experience. Benefits include health, life, disability, and malpractice insurance, 401(k) retirement plan, paid time off, and CME time.
Location: Newark Beth Israel Medical Center – highly desirable area with access to NY, Philadelphia, and the Jersey Shore.
