Job Summary:
Google DeepMind is a team of scientists and engineers focused on advancing artificial intelligence for public benefit. As the Director of Product Management for Robotics, you will lead the product strategy and roadmap execution for their robotics program, integrating AI capabilities to enhance functionality and autonomy in robotic systems.
Responsibilities:
• Define and evangelize the long-term product vision and strategy for our robotics portfolio.
• Own the end-to-end product roadmap for robotics, prioritizing features, capabilities, and new product introductions based on market analysis, customer needs / use cases, and technological advancements.
• Help drive the integration of Gemini models and their capabilities into our robotic systems, identifying opportunities to enhance autonomy, perception, decision-making, and user interaction through intelligent algorithms and machine learning.
• Build and nurture strategic partnerships with key technology providers, academic institutions, and industry players to expand our robotics ecosystem and unlock new capabilities.
• Identify unmet needs, use cases, emerging trends, and new business opportunities in the robotics space.
• Collaborate closely with Research, Program Management, and Marketing teams to ensure seamless product development, successful launches, and effective go-to-market strategies.
• Define and track key product metrics, utilizing data-driven insights to evaluate product performance, identify areas for improvement, and inform future product decisions.
Qualifications:
Required:
• Graduate degree in Robotics or Customer Science
• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Robotics, or a related technical field and a Masters degree in Robotics or Computer Science.
• 10+ years of experience in product management, with at least 5 years in a leadership role focused on AI / Foundation models, robotics, or highly technical hardware/software products.
• At least 5 years of management experience, including managing senior PMs
Preferred:
• Demonstrated experience with robotic systems that leverage AI for enhanced functionality, autonomy, or intelligent behavior.
• Strong understanding of AI/ML concepts, frameworks, and their application in real-world robotic systems.
• Proven ability to define and execute product strategies, build detailed roadmaps, and successfully launch innovative products.
• Exceptional leadership and communication skills, with the ability to manage strategic partnership, influence cross-functional teams, and present complex technical information clearly to diverse audiences.
