Job description

Marigolds and Onions provides customers across the GTA with a comprehensive catering and event production experience. From daily corporate deliveries to large-scale festivals and international sporting events, our commitment to quality and service is unmatched. Founded in 1991 and headquartered in Toronto, we have become one of the city’s leading catering/event production companies, proudly supporting major firms, charitable organizations, and high-profile sporting events.

We are hiring Operations Runners to support event logistics and food & beverage operations at two major sporting events: the RBC Canadian Open at TPC Toronto at Osprey Valley and the National Bank Open at Sobeys Stadium. This role is fast-paced, highly physical, and critical to ensuring smooth behind-the-scenes operations across the event site. Ideal candidates are proactive, reliable, and comfortable working outdoors and on the move for long periods.

JOB LOCATIONS & EVENT DATES

    • Location: TPC Toronto at Osprey Valley, 19131 Main St, Alton, ON L7K 1R1
    • Dates: June 8 – 14
  • National Bank Open
    • Location: Sobeys Stadium, 1 Shoreham Dr, North York, ON M3N 3A6
    • Dates: August 1 – 13

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Product Transport & Distribution: Move inventory including food, beverages, supplies, and equipment across the venue using carts, dollies, or golf carts.
  • Operational Support: Assist various departments by delivering materials, supplies, and equipment as requested throughout the event.
  • Stocking & Replenishment: Restock key operational areas, hospitality zones, and service locations based on daily needs.
  • Equipment Handling: Operate golf carts and basic event handling equipment safely and responsibly.
  • Setup & Breakdown Support: Assist in setting up operational areas, signage, supply zones, and back-of-house workspaces.
  • Urgent Response: Address time-sensitive requests from managers, culinary teams, and suite/hospitality areas to prevent service delays.
  • Inventory Assistance: Support basic inventory counts, organization, and stock rotation (First In, First Out).
  • Merchandiser Restocking: Refill fridges, coolers, beverage displays, and back-of-house storage as required.
  • Site Navigation: Navigate large outdoor sites efficiently while maintaining a high level of awareness and safety.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Prior experience in operations, event logistics, warehouse, or inventory roles is an asset.
  • Golf cart or equipment handling experience preferred.
  • A license to drive a Forklift, zoom boom, etc., is a plus but not required.
  • Physical ability to lift and move items up to 50 lbs.
  • Comfortable working outdoors and operating carts, dollies, and similar equipment.
  • Strong attention to detail, time management, and organizational skills.
  • Reliable, proactive, and able to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Ability to adapt to shifting event needs and fast-paced environments.

POSITION SALARY & BENEFITS

  • Rate: $20 - $23/hour. Pay rate is based on experience 
  • Schedule: Event-based shifts; full availability for event dates required. This role is a temporary addition to headcount
