Senior Global Shipping & Receiving Specialist

With offices and facilities across the U.S., Europe, the Middle East, and Asia-Pacific, Shield AI's technology actively supports operations worldwide. The Senior Global Shipping & Receiving Specialist is responsible for executing and coordinating domestic and international shipping, receiving, inventory control, export compliance, import operations, and warehouse activities supporting product delivery, manufacturing, sustainment, and customer operations. This position serves as a subject matter expert for global logistics operations and ensures the timely, compliant, and efficient movement of equipment, parts, and customer deliveries worldwide.

  • Execute domestic and international shipments via parcel, LTL, FTL, air freight, ocean freight, and hand-carry operations.
  • Coordinate import and export activities with freight forwarders, customs brokers, government agencies, and internal stakeholders.
  • Prepare and review commercial invoices, packing lists, EEI filings, AES filings, export licenses, carnets, certificates of origin, and other shipping documentation.
  • Ensure compliance with ITAR, EAR, DG regulations, customs requirements, and company policies.
  • Support customer deliveries, field deployments, demonstrations, sustainment activities, and international programs.
  • Coordinate dangerous goods (DG) shipments, including lithium battery compliance and hazardous material documentation.
  • Receive, inspect, process, and inventory incoming materials and customer returns.
  • Maintain accurate inventory transactions within ERP/WMS systems.
  • Investigate shipment delays, customs holds, inventory discrepancies, and logistics-related issues.
  • Partner with product delivery, manufacturing, engineering, procurement, trade compliance, and program management teams to support operational objectives.
  • Assist with development and implementation of logistics processes, work instructions, and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Train and mentor junior shipping & receiving specialists and support cross-functional logistics training.
  • Support warehouse organization, inventory accuracy, cycle counts, and material handling operations.
  • Provide shipment status updates and logistics reporting to leadership and program teams.
  • 5+ years of experience in shipping, receiving, logistics, supply chain, warehouse operations, or international transportation.
  • Experience supporting international shipments and customs processes.
  • Knowledge of export control regulations, including ITAR and EAR.
  • Experience working with freight carriers, customs brokers, and freight forwarders.
  • Familiarity with ERP systems and inventory management processes.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to lift and move materials up to 50 pounds.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain any required security clearances or export authorizations.
  • Bachelor's degree in supply chain, logistics, business, or related field.
  • Experience supporting aerospace, defense, military, or government programs.
  • Dangerous goods (IATA/IMDG/49 CFR) certification experience.
  • Experience with ATA carnets, temporary imports/exports, and international demonstrations.
  • Lean, Six Sigma, or continuous improvement experience.
  • Forklift certification or warehouse equipment experience.
  • Serve as a logistics subject matter expert.
  • Mentor junior team members and provide day-to-day guidance.
  • Drive process improvements and operational excellence initiatives.
  • Demonstrate ownership, accountability, and customer-focused decision making.
  • Partner across departments to resolve complex logistics and compliance challenges.
