Job description

Hunton Rental Solutions (HRS), a division of the Hunton Group, is seeking to hire a Rental Project Engineer to support the engineering, coordination, and execution of temporary rental projects involving HVAC, power generation, electrical distribution, compressed air, and fluid handling systems. This position combines technical engineering expertise with project coordination and operational support to ensure temporary systems are designed, deployed, and executed successfully.

Responsibilities:
  • Support the engineering, design, and execution of temporary rental projects.
  • Assist with equipment selection, sizing calculations, and application reviews for HVAC, power, and fluid handling systems.
  • Develop project layouts, equipment schedules, technical drawings, and support documentation.
  • Coordinate project logistics, mobilization, and demobilization activities.
  • Support equipment startup, commissioning, operational testing, and system performance verification.
  • Perform customer site assessments and provide technical recommendations.
  • Coordinate with field technicians, operations personnel, and subcontractors to ensure successful project execution.
  • Assist with project scheduling, resource planning, and execution strategies.
  • Support troubleshooting efforts and emergency response projects as needed.
  • Ensure compliance with all company safety policies, customer requirements, and applicable regulations.
  • Monitor project performance and recommend operational improvements.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related technical field preferred.
  • Experience with HVAC systems, temporary power systems, industrial equipment, or rental operations preferred.
  • Strong technical and engineering problem-solving skills.
  • Understanding of HVAC, electrical, mechanical, and fluid handling systems.
  • Ability to perform load calculations, equipment sizing, and system evaluations.
  • Experience interpreting technical drawings, specifications, and engineering documentation.
  • Strong project coordination, planning, and organizational skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and respond effectively during critical project situations.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and engineering design software preferred.
  • Valid driver's license with a safe driving record.
  • Some travel is required to support customer, project, and business operations as needed.
