Are you a driven leader ready to command the team that sustains the nerve center of global air operations? The 517th Software Engineering Squadron (517 SWE/MXDPA) is seeking a first-level supervisor to lead the Theater Battle Management Core System (TBMCS) sustainment flight.
This is a premier opportunity to guide a team of technical experts in supporting the sole system that empowers the United States and its allies to plan, prepare, and execute air campaigns across the globe. As a front-line leader, your guidance and technical direction will ensure that commanders have the flawless automated decision-support tools they need to win, whether in peacetime, exercises, humanitarian missions, or full-scale war.
Your Leadership Mission. In this critical role, you will exercise comprehensive supervisory and position management responsibilities. You will not just manage tasks; you will mentor, develop, and direct a highly skilled workforce, providing the continuous advice, accountability, and expertise required to sustain a zero-fail mission.
Under your leadership, your team will sustain the essential Command and Control (C2) tools used to build the Air Battle Plan (ABP) and disseminate the Air Tasking Order (ATO) and Airspace Control Order (ACO).
Global Impact & Strategic Execution. The work you direct will have an immediate, daily impact on joint and coalition operations worldwide. You will ensure the flawless delivery and sustainment of capabilities for:
-Air and Space Operations Centers (AOCs): Powering the primary C2 hubs for air operations globally.
-Joint Maritime & Expeditionary Forces: Enabling seamless air coordination aboard Navy aircraft carriers, command ships, and within Marine Corps Air Wings.
- Homeland Defense: Supporting the critical airspace management and defense operations of North American Air Defense Command (NORAD) Regions, Sectors, and Wings.

QUALIFICATIONS:
- U.S. Citizenship
- Obtain & maintain an appropriate security clearance
- This is a drug testing designated position. The incumbent is subject to random testing for drug use.
- The employee may be required to travel on military and commercial aircraft to perform temporary duty
- The Incumbent is subject to recall during non-duty hours, weekends, and holidays to complete proposals and/or resolve software problems.
- This position has been designated as a Non-Critical Acquisition Position and is covered by the Acquisition Professional Development Program (APDP).
Recruitment Knowledge Skills and Abilities:
1. Professional knowledge of electronics engineering and computer science concepts, theories, principles, and practices and working knowledge of other disciplines, such as aerospace, industrial, mechanical, and/or electrical engineering; of a broad range of engineering standards, precedents, methods, and techniques to ensure work in compliance with regulations and standards; and the applicability of such knowledge to the full range of duties concerned with design, production, and maintenance of Operational Flight Programs, Automated Test Systems, Test Program Set Software, and other systems used to support the warfighter and weapons systems program offices.
2. Knowledge of safety and security regulations, practices, and procedures.
3. Knowledge of standard contracting regulations, practices, and procedures.
4. Ability to plan, organize, and direct the functions and staff of a small to medium sized organization.
5. Knowledge of budgeting, procurement, standard configuration and finding regulations, practices and processes related to system acquisition and sustainment management functions.
