Job description

Temporary Financial Analyst Our client is seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Financial Analyst to join their team on a temporary basis. This role will support financial planning, reporting, forecasting, and business decision-making by analyzing financial data and providing actionable insights. The ideal candidate is highly proficient in Excel, enjoys working with data, and can effectively communicate findings to business stakeholders. The role typically involves budgeting, forecasting, variance analysis, and management reporting. Location: Chicago, IL (Hybrid or Onsite) Job Type: Temporary / Contract Duration: 6 months Pay Rate: $35 - $40/hr Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare and maintain financial models, forecasts, and budgets.
  • Analyze monthly, quarterly, and annual financial results.
  • Perform variance analysis against budget, forecast, and prior-year performance.
  • Assist with financial reporting packages and management presentations.
  • Support month-end and quarter-end close activities.
  • Develop and track key performance indicators (KPIs).
  • Partner with accounting, operations, and business leaders to provide financial insights.
  • Identify trends, risks, and opportunities within financial data. [
  • Assist with ad hoc financial analysis and special projects.
  • Improve reporting processes and recommend best practices.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field.
  • 2+ years of financial analysis, FP&A, accounting, or related experience.
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including pivot tables, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, and financial modeling.
  • Experience with ERP systems and financial reporting tools.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to present findings to business partners.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with Power BI, Tableau, or other business intelligence tools.
  • Knowledge of budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning processes.
  • Experience supporting manufacturing, distribution, healthcare, nonprofit, or professional services organizations.
  • CPA, CFA, or MBA coursework is a plus.
