Description

Total Safety is looking for a PRN - RN, LPN, or Paramedicto add to their safety conscious team. The PRN will provide administrative, clerical and back-up medical support to customer site. Including, but not limited to: absence management, medical record maintenance, and other general administrative duties as assigned.

Brief Description:
  • RN, LPN, or Paramedic with any state-required certification to perform phlebotomy and vaccine administration
  • PRN role, expect 3-5 days/week during onboarding, then 1-3 days per week
  • No weekends expected through 2024, but may be needed in the spring during Turnaround
  • CAOHC audiogram and NIOSH spirometry certification - preferred
Summary of Duties:
  • Administrative functions including answering phones, monitoring emails, scheduling appointments, inventory management, data entry
  • Maintain confidential hard copy and electronic medical records
  • Provide emergency response (BLS), first aid assessment, and treatment of occupational and non-occupational illness or injury
  • Conduct health surveillance testing which includes phlebotomy, vaccine administration, vision exams, ECGs, urinalysis, audiograms, pulmonary function tests
  • Review and action test results
  • Perform case management functions including initiating follow-up with employees and leaders for medical absences and restricted duty, conduct or coordinate return to work/fitness for duty exams, contact offsite providers to clarify medical information or work status, coordinate case meetings with leaders and HR to address medical accommodations
  • Support the alcohol and drug program including coordinating the random testing program, scheduling appointments, monitoring and actioning results, contacting related vendors as needed
  • Provide site wellness programs such as blood pressure clinics, flu shot clinics
  • PRN role with part time (8-27 hours/week) needed currently but may vary/increase up to full-time hours based on work volume (e.g., vacation coverage, other workplace demands)
  • Day shift with hours ranging from 0600 - 1900 (may vary)
  • Shifts are usually 8-9 hours, 1-3 days per week
  • Usually weekdays but could require weekends based on need
Must-haves (minimum requirements):
  • Certification in audiometry (CAOHC) and spirometry (NIOSH) - preferred
  • Adult Emergency First Aid/Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation/AED (BLS Provider) - instructor level for AHA, or HSI preferred
  • State-required certification to perform phlebotomy and vaccine administration (if applicable)
  • Exceptional first aid proficiency with an ability to remain calm and composed in emergency situations
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office
  • Strong collaboration and interpersonal skills in order to achieve the best results and deliver the most value
  • Understanding of health and wellness programs, including support of medical surveillance and wellness programs
  • An ability to work independently with minimal supervision
