You will serve as a key technical resource responsible for deploying and integrating advanced torque tooling, developing and improving manufacturing processes, supporting controls integration, and driving standardization across multiple production value streams. The position focuses heavily on implementation activities during the first 8–10 months, followed by ongoing support, training, process optimization, and continuous improvement efforts.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the design, implementation, and launch of torque-controlled assembly systems, supporting projects from initial concept through production startup.
  • Program, configure, and deploy 100+ torque tools and controllers with unique torque profiles, ensuring process reliability, traceability, and quality compliance.
  • Develop and integrate torque tooling, fixtures, and manufacturing systems with production tracking platforms, including SAP and MIS 2.0.
  • Support the migration of 80+ production part numbers and the design and implementation of 80+ assembly fixtures to improve manufacturing efficiency and consistency.
  • Collaborate with manufacturing, quality, controls, and IT teams to validate processes, execute equipment commissioning, and ensure seamless system integration.
  • Troubleshoot and optimize assembly operations, focusing on critical fastener control, error-proofing, process robustness, and production performance.
  • Create work instructions, provide operator and engineering training, and deliver ongoing technical support while contributing to automation and digital manufacturing initiatives.

Essential Skills

  • Extensive experience supporting assembly, fastening, and torque-controlled manufacturing systems in high-volume production environments.
  • Hands-on expertise programming, configuring, and troubleshooting torque tools, controllers, and integrated manufacturing equipment.
  • Proven background leading equipment implementation projects, including installation, commissioning, validation, and production startup activities.
  • Strong troubleshooting and root-cause analysis skills across mechanical, electrical, controls, and manufacturing systems.
  • Experience collaborating with cross-functional teams, suppliers, and system integrators to deliver and support integrated production solutions.
  • Proficient with manufacturing systems and tools, including SAP, manufacturing execution/information systems (e.g., MIS 2.0), and 3D CAD software such as Creo Parametric.
  • Knowledge of fixture design, process improvement, continuous improvement, and lean manufacturing principles to enhance quality, efficiency, and operational performance.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Experience with advanced torque control platforms such as Power Focus systems, ToolsTalk software, or similar tools.
  • SAP integration experience, particularly in connecting production systems and tools to enterprise systems.
  • Hands-on experience with MIS 2.0 or comparable manufacturing execution or information systems.
  • Proficiency in Creo Parametric for 3D modeling, mechanical fixture development, and design of assembly tooling.
  • Fixture design experience focused on part retention, positioning, and repeatability in high-volume manufacturing.
  • Controls engineering experience involving industrial communication, equipment integration, and system connectivity.
  • Experience with high-volume manufacturing environments and critical fastener control processes.
  • background in lean manufacturing, including standardization, error-proofing, and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Comfort working in cross-functional teams that include manufacturing, quality, IT, and controls engineering.
  • Ability to train and mentor others on new tools, systems, and processes.
