Job description

Job Title: Electrical Designer

Job Description

The Electrical Design Engineer plays a crucial role in designing and implementing electrical systems. This position involves creating power distribution systems, including riser diagrams and panel schedules, and designing low voltage infrastructure for IT and security systems. Additionally, the role encompasses lighting design, including fixture selection, controls, and performing lighting calculations, as well as designing low-voltage systems such as fire alarms, security, and controls. The engineer will also be responsible for calculating loads, fault current, and voltage drop, and conducting field surveys and providing construction phase support.

Responsibilities

  • Design power distribution systems with riser diagrams and panel schedules.
  • Create low voltage infrastructure designs for IT and security systems.
  • Develop lighting design, including fixture selection, controls, and lighting calculations.
  • Design low-voltage systems, including fire alarms, security, and controls.
  • Calculate electrical loads, fault current, and voltage drop.
  • Conduct field surveys and support during the construction phase.

Essential Skills

  • Proficiency in MEP and electrical design.
  • Experience with Revit software.
  • Minimum of .5 years of electrical design experience.
  • Strong teamwork, communication, and client relationship skills.

Work Environment

The work environment consists of a close-knit team of 10 employees in a bullpen-like office setting, fostering a very family-oriented culture. Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Lawrence, KS.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $27.00 - $35.00/hr.
