Job Responsibilities
  • The Dispatcher is responsible for the assignment of emergency and non-emergency gas service orders to field technicians at both Peoples Gas and North Shore Gas Companies. These include gas leaks, carbon monoxide calls, explosions, fires and No Gas complaints.
  • This position is responsible for providing critical gas facility information as well as customer information to Service and Distribution Department field technicians at both PGL and NSG.  
  • The Dispatcher will conduct well being checks on field employees and request assistance from private security firm as well as Police and Fire Departments to ensure the safety of our employees and customers.  
  • The Dispatcher uses multiple computer systems and communicates with field technicians via radio console and telephone.
  • This position works evenings, overnights, weekends and holidays.
  • The Dispatcher must work with minimal supervision and be able to multi task during periods of high call volume.
  • Overtime is mandatory based on departmental needs
Minimum Qualifications
  • High School Diploma, HSED, or GED
  • 3+ years Operations experience in the utility industry, emergency management, operational compliance or contact center environment
  • 3+ years experience working with Microsoft applications 
  • 3+ years Business related experience with customer interaction
Preferred Qualifications
  • 1+ years - Open C (emergency classification system and knowledge), PCAD, Navigate experience
  • Familiarity with city of Chicago street layout

Pay Range Minimum:  $32.90 

Pay Range Maximum:  $49.35 

The pay range reflects the minimum and maximum for the position at the time of posting and may be modified in the future. The starting salary/pay within the pay range will be based on several factors, as applicable, but not limited to, relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, geographic location, shift, travel requirements, collective bargaining agreements, and business and organizational needs.  At WEC Energy Group, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for their role.
