Ken-Mar Fire Extinguisher Co., an Altus Fire & Life Safety Company, is looking for a Fire Extinguisher Inspection Technician to join our team!

  • Inspecting and tagging fire extinguishers, fire hosses, and other fire suppression equipment in accordance with NFPA and local fire codes at client locations.
  • Perform hydrostatic testing and recharging of fire extinguishers as needed.
  • Conduct routine maintenance on inspection equipment and vehicles
  • Refilling and replacing damaged or expired units
  • Documenting service logs and inspection reports and maintaining accurate records of inspections and maintenance performed.
  • Advising clients on compliance and safety standards, providing excellent customer service and ensuring customer satisfaction.
  • Provide recommendations for replacement or repairs of fire suppression equipment and systems as necessary.
  • Participate in ongoing training and certification programs
  • Maintain compliance with safety regulations and company policies.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned
Required Skills
  • High school diploma or equivalent required;
  • Vocational or technical school degree preferred
  • Certification in extinguisher servicing desirable
  • Strong knowledge of fire safety regulations and NFPA 10 standards
  • Experience with fire extinguisher inspections and maintenance would be an asset.
  • Valid driver’s license 
  • Successfully pass FDNY Certificate of Fitness (COF) exam within the first 45 days.
  • OSHA 30 certification preferred
