Job Summary
We are looking for a Financial Analyst Intermediate to join our team in the Accounting Operations area of Financial Operations. You will serve an important role assisting departments throughout the university with daily accounting and reporting responsibilities and preparing financial reports, analyses and reconciliations.
This is a remote role, but you may need to travel to the office for work activities occasionally.
Responsibilities*
  • Review transactions to ensure compliance with contracts, gift agreements, governmental regulations, accounting standards and university policies, including capitalization of capital assets and establishment of endowments
  • Reconcile accounts and follow-up to resolve any specific accounting or supporting documentation issues
  • Prepare and present a variety of financial reports and analyses, including those related to fund, department or project grant activity
  • Analyze variances for management financial reports
  • Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual schedules to support external audit, donor and regulatory needs
  • Prepare journal entries and appropriate supporting documentation
  • Answer phone calls and emails from schools, colleges and units about accounting policies and procedures, including proper use of accounts and processing of transactions
  • Special projects, including ad-hoc reports and analysis

Required Qualifications*
  • Bachelor's degree in business administration with a major specialization in accounting (or similar education and experience); a minimum grade point average of 3.0 is necessary
  • Experience working with spreadsheets, query tools and software to model and analyze data
  • Ability to work with a variety of individuals of varying backgrounds
  • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team and contribute to a positive work environment
  • Experience working with complex financial and administrative information systems (Oracle PeopleSoft helpful)
  • Analyze large amounts of complex information to present simple and concise material to the appropriate audience

We will base salary on overall qualifications and experience.
