Job description

Location:
4910 Tiedeman Road, Brooklyn Ohio
Program Start: JULY 12, 2027
What does our Enterprise Analyst Program offer?
KeyBank's Enterprise Analyst Program is a multi-week training program. For those still in college, the program facilitates the transition from college to a full-time career at Key. The program provides opportunities to learn about Key's business and strategic pillars, learn about Key's industry-leading employee benefits, engage in exciting networking events with Analysts across various teams, hear from members of the Executive Leadership Team, and receive relevant training ahead of starting in a full-time role.
At the conclusion of the multi-week training program, Analysts will enter their Line of Business and begin working with their respective teams within a rotational program within a specific segment or full-time role. Continued development beyond the program is provided through mentorship opportunities with teammates across various levels of the organization that will provide an environment for shared learning and advice, encourage professional development, and assist in the development of career aspirations and goals.
The Commercial Credit Analyst Program is designed to develop entry level talent into underwriting and portfolio management professionals through classroom training, a portfolio monitoring rotation, cross-functional experiences, robust feedback, and performance management.
About the Commercial Credit Analyst Program
Analysts will establish and grow their skill set in credit risk analysis and commercial banking. Essential job functions include the spreading and analysis of company financial statements, the timely and accurate assignment of risk ratings via interim and annual reviews, evaluation of risk via financial performance and credit policy review, and effective communication between sales professionals, credit risk officers, and third-party support.
Following the conclusion of the Enterprise Analyst Program, the program participant will be emersed in 6-8 weeks of foundational credit classroom training, including financial accounting, financial analysis, risk rating rationale, and credit policy review and discussion. Participants then move through a 12-month rotation through the Credit Surveillance Team (CST), which is responsible for portfolio monitoring responsibilities for Commercial Banking and Business Banking clients. This rotation also includes an opportunity to support deal teams working on credit actions and events. At the conclusion of the CST rotation, analysts will be placed on a Banking Group Portfolio Management (BGPM) team based upon business needs, interest, and match.
This role reports through BGPM, which is responsible for the underwriting of new credit opportunities and management of loan portfolios for the majority of industry and business segments across KeyBank.
Job Responsibilities
  • Create credit approval documents for various credit underwriting activities, including interim and annual reviews.
  • Spread/review financial statements, test financial covenants, review borrowing base certificates, and analyze financial and non-financial information to develop a concise focused analytical foundation for a credit recommendation and decision.
  • Collaborate with relationship managers, credit partners, third party support, and other deal team partners to drive the efficiency and effectiveness of the credit process to meet client expectations.
  • Provide financial analysis and portfolio monitoring to ensure timely and accurate assignment of risk ratings.
  • Identify deteriorating credits early and escalate material issues or trends in a timely manner.
  • Review loan documentation to ensure loan documents match terms and conditions outlined in the credit approval.
  • Recommend decision to appropriate credit officer.
  • Comply with all KeyBank policies and procedures, including without limitation, acting professionally at all times, conducting business ethically, avoiding conflicts of interest, and acting in the best interests of KeyBank and KeyBank's clients.

Qualifications
  • Must obtain a four-year degree with preferred major in Business, Finance, Economics, Accounting, or related field by June 2027
  • A minimum 3.3 undergraduate GPA preferred
  • Strong accounting and financial acumen
  • Good analytical and decision-making skills
  • Exceptional interpersonal and relationship-building skills
  • Effective oral and written communication skills
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft® Office applications
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
