POSITION: HSU Workstudy Figure Drawing Model
DEPARTMENT: College of Fine Arts
SUPERVISOR TITLE: Professor of Art

SUMMARY/SCOPE: Figure Drawing Model
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
The Hardin Simmons University Art Department seeks 1 or 2 figuremodels to pose for Figure Drawing classes.
Applicants will need to be willing to pose in an appropriate swimsuitfor HSU art students to draw in a live setting. Applicants will be requested to hold poses for extended periods oftime.
The professor will instructstudents to draw the model's figure with discussion revolving around skeletalstructure, musculature, volume light and shadow. The class meetson Tuesday and Thursday from 1:00-2:50 PM.Applicants will need to be present for one or both meetings. Ideally, we will have two different models,one for each day.
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:
No specific educationnecessary, though dance or gymnastics experience could be helpful
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Applicants must be able and willing to ascend a small stage andhold a variety of poses for extended periods of time. The ability to accept choreographic direction(for static poses) is necessary. Applicants with choreographic creativity are encouraged.
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
The setting is the Frost Center Painting Room. The space will be filled with a class ofaround ten students and a professor. Lighting varies to emphasize various aspects of the models form. Students and professor will discuss aestheticconcerns, anatomy and physiology as well as random other topics. The applicant will be asked to assume variousposes. And hold them for predetermined periods of time.
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:
Ideally, we would have avariety of models with differing body types to pose for the students. If you are only able to meet on one of thedays requested please do not hesitate to apply for the position. I may end up piecing the schedule together withvarious models.
