The Position:
As a Mass Spectrometry Software Scientist, you will work with leading scientists across biopharmaceutical R&D labs to develop best-in-class mass spectrometry data analysis solutions using Genedata Expressionist, a powerful software platform that streamlines and automates mass spectrometry-based large molecule characterization and quality monitoring workflows from raw data to final result.
This full-time position is based at our office in either San Francisco, CA or Lexington, MA.
It requires about 20% travel within the US and requires occasional travel to Europe.
The salary range for this role is $100,000 to $130,000. This is the range that we in good faith believe is the range of possible compensation for this role at the time of this posting. This range may be modified in the future.
This job is also eligible for bonus/incentive pay.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Operate as a Trusted Scientific Partner: Dive deep into our clients' R&D mass spec workflows to identify their most critical data challenges and provide expert consulting.
  • Develop Tailored Solutions: Design and configure innovative solutions using Genedata Expressionist, translating complex client requirements into a technical reality.
  • Guide Client Projects: Act as the scientific lead and main point of contact for client projects, coordinating from conception through to successful implementation to ensure scientific and technical goals are met or exceeded.
  • Articulate Scientific Value: Partner with the sales team as a scientific expert, conducting product demonstrations that showcase the potential of our software to prospective clients.
  • Be the Voice of the Client: Act as the vital bridge between our clients and internal teams (Product, Marketing, R&D), translating feedback into insights that shape the future of our platform.
  • Share Your Expertise: Develop and deliver engaging scientific and technical presentations to peers and clients, including at industry conferences, workshops, and client meetings.

Skills & Experience
  • Deep hands-on experience in mass spectrometry for large molecule characterization. Specific expertise in one or more of the following is essential: intact mass analysis, peptide mapping, and PTM analysis.
  • An advanced degree (Ph.D. or M.S.) in Analytical Chemistry, Biochemistry, or a related field is preferred. We also enthusiastically welcome candidates with a B.S. and 7+ years of directly relevant industry experience.
  • Experience with scientific programming in Python or R is a plus
  • Must be legally authorized to work for any employer in the U.S.
