Description:
Candidates must have experience in fiber optics: connectors and/or cables.
Top skills required:
- Experience in optical fiber- based products: fiber fusion splicing; inspect, clean and install optical fiber connectors, optical fiber cable installation (field installation).
- Data processing and data analysis using computer Macros.
- No restrictions to physically pull/maneuver heavy duty optical fiber cables.
- Being able to work under extreme temperature conditions (-22F and 104F).
- Candidates must have good eyesight and being able to identify colors
- Be a team player
Day to Day Responsibilities
โ€ข Assist in performing set up and performance verification of fiber optic testing system
โ€ข Configure product samples for environmental and mechanical testing
โ€ข Perform optical measurements using manual or automated test systems
โ€ข Program and operate environmental chambers and test equipment
โ€ข Setup/perform and track/report progress of testing as directed
โ€ข Being able to execute test using stablished and defined testing procedures
โ€ข Document test results from optical fiber component testing as per documented procedures
โ€ข Conduct basic data analysis
โ€ข Draft test reports in the proper format and filed accordingly
โ€ข Assist in conducting failure mode analysis
โ€ข Perform basic troubleshooting/problem solving
โ€ข Maintain a safe, clean, and organized work area
Required Skills
โ€ข Familiarity with computer applications such as Microsoft Word, PowerPoint and Excel
โ€ข Ability to complete assignments accurately and at a pre-defined schedule
โ€ข Detail oriented
โ€ข Interpersonal skills and ability to work in a team

โ€ข Hands-on technical skills using test and measuring equipment
