Job description

Position Summary

This combined dual role is responsible for maintaining building services and providing maintenance services for the overall Support Center building and plaza area; while also supporting shipping and receiving operations at the Support Center Mail Center.


Essential Functions - General Maintenance (Key Responsibilities)

  • Responsible for tactical oversight of manual physical moves within the Support Center, kitchen, and lab.
  • Accountable for all general maintenance services to include, but not limited to, plumbing, carpet, furniture repair and assembly, painting, electrical repairs, canal and fountain maintenance and operation, and installing/dismantling of all cubicles, etc.
  • Oversees general landscaping maintenance for Denny's Plaza.
  • Daily walk-throughs of the plaza and outside building areas to ensure the plaza is litter-free and theproperty is in good condition.
  • Coordinates with city and outside agencies approved for use of the Support Center or plaza area for special events; manages event setup to ensure requests are fulfilled while safeguarding company equipment and property.

Essential Functions - Mail Center Clerk (Key Responsibilities)

  • Assists Supervisor in maintaining adequate inventory levels of shipping supplies.
  • Orders FedEx supplies, boxes, FedEx labels, Poly mailers, postal machine ink; requests postage refills; maintains clean and orderly mail stations.
  • Coordinates various projects needing shipping to company and franchise restaurants, ensuring proper packaging and cost-effective shipping.
  • Ensures all mail, packages, and shipments are delivered for the Support Center and Units. Mail is sorted and delivered twice daily.
  • Receives all incoming shipments (FedEx, UPS, and Freight trucking); logs all shipments into the Q Track system for accuracy and accountability.
  • Updates the Q Tracking system with the latest employee database information.
  • Communicates with supervisors and managers on issues that cannot be resolved in a timely manner; informs supervisors of shipping delays due to weather or communication breakdown.
  • Asset Protection Support: Opens/closes building; checks key access areas on cameras; signs in all visitors; provides temporary access badges; greets employees and visitors; logs into Vista software for incoming calls; answers phones professionally and directs calls appropriately.
  • Project Shipping Coordinator: Packs and stacks pallets for trucking; performs price comparisons for best shipping rates; monitors shipments and communicates with trucking companies and shippers.
  • Maintains a clean and organized work environment; Mail Center is cleaned on a weekly basis.
  • Other duties as assigned.


Education and Experience Requirements

Education: High school diploma or equivalent required. Vocational school education is preferred. Experience in providing general maintenance. Electrical license/certification preferred.


Experience: Prior experience providing general maintenance required. Prior experience working with core building systems. Prior experience handling repairs to critical equipment and systems. Some experience in shipping/mail center operations preferred.

  • Ability to adapt to changing priorities.
  • Proven and demonstrated analytical experience determining action plans for solutions to operationalissues.

  • Must be able to perform heavy lifting and basic plumbing and HVAC technical services.
  • Ability to work in excessively hot and cold environments.
  • Ability to perform work at various heights and in confined spaces.
  • Must have a desire to be successful and want to excel.
  • Must exhibit strong interpersonal skills.
  • Must have the ability to multi-task and effectively manage time in a high pressure, often stressful environment.
  • Requires coordination with other groups for special projects.
  • Must be able to lift 50 lbs.

The typical pay range for this role is:

Minimum:$21.80 - Maximum:$29.92
