Job description

Outside The Box, LLC is currently looking to hire a Superintendent for the Fayetteville, NC area. To be considered as a candidate you must have a minimum of 7-10 years experience in federal construction, specifically with site work/utility experience.
  • The Superintendent coordinates all site construction activities and supervises all field personnel as required to successfully complete the project on schedule and within budget. This includes maintaining the highest quality, and supervising all trade and field personnel while administering good construction safety practices with all onsite activities. Maintains the job site office and closes out projects.
  • As a Superintendent, you will meet with the Project Manager as soon as the job is awarded to review and plan for materials, safety, labor and equipment budgets, and other issues.
  • You will conduct preliminary job site visits as necessary for job preparation.
  • You will meet regularly with your manager to review the progress of ongoing jobs and to discuss problems that are outside of your authority.
  • You will be responsible for training workers in construction methods, operation of equipment, safety procedures, and company policies. Our ideal candidate is a self-motivated, highly responsible person with outstanding organizational and communication skills who can grow with the company. Essential Functions:
  • Coordinates and supervises all construction activities.
  • Confer with supervisory personnel, owners, contractors, and design professionals to discuss and resolve matters such as work procedures, complaints, and construction problems.
  • Plan, organized, and directed activities concerned with the construction and maintenance of structures, facilities, and systems.
  • Schedule the project in logical steps and budget time required to meet deadlines.
  • Direct and supervise all field personnel to achieve completion of the project on schedule, within budget, and with quality workmanship that conforms to original plans and specifications.
  • Complete daily reports on computer-based project management program.
  • Manage the project budget, track labor & material costs, and prepare cost estimates for OTB self-performed work activities.
  • Prepare and complete a final punch list.
  • Take action to deal with the results of delays, bad weather, or emergencies at construction sites. ·Investigate damage, accidents, or delays at construction sites, to ensure that proper procedures are being carried out.
  • Maintain as-built drawings for all trades through the completion of the project.
  • Ensure all reports and records are completed in an accurate and timely manner.

Required Experience and Education:
  • Strong knowledge of construction means and methods.
  • Minimum of 7-10 years of successful construction work experience as a project superintendent, with project work ranging from $10M - $30M.
  • Design-build experience preferred.
  • Federal project experience.
  • Ability to gain access to Federal installations.
  • Experienced in managing multiple projects.
  • OSHA 30-Hour Certification or EM385 Safety Certification and Qualify Control Certification.
  • First Aid and CPR Certification.
  • High School Diploma or GED (Desirable study concentration in construction management- 2-yr college degree preferred).
  • Previous management experience preferred.
  • US Citizenship or Green Card certification.
  • Ability to pass a background investigation.
  • Clean driving record.
