Job description

Job Title: Quality Control Supervisor (Aerospace Propulsion & NDT)
Role Overview
We are seeking a high-caliber Quality Control Supervisor to lead all inspection and Non-Destructive Testing (NDT) operations within a premier aerospace turbine engine repair environment. In this pivotal leadership role, you will oversee a multidisciplinary team responsible for receiving inspections, metallurgical lab analysis, and advanced NDT processes (X-ray, FPI, Ultrasonic). You will serve as the primary technical authority for quality compliance, ensuring all shop travelers and documentation adhere to AS/ISO standards and rigorous regulatory requirements. The ideal candidate is a seasoned quality professional with prior supervisory experience who can balance operational flow with uncompromising safety and accuracy.
Key Responsibilities
• Inspection Oversight: Coordinate work assignments for all inspection operations, including Input/Receiving, Strip, and Final Inspection phases.
• NDT Leadership: Supervise Non-Destructive Testing operations (X-ray, FPI, Airflow, Ultrasonic) and the Metallurgical Lab to ensure technical integrity.
• Compliance & Governance: Act as a Management Representative to ensure total compliance with AS/ISO standards and internal Quality Systems Manuals.
• Documentation Control: Perform comprehensive reviews of shop travelers, document control procedures, and technical manuals to ensure accuracy before release.
• Team Development: Manage employee testing and certifications; ensure the team is cross-trained, mentored, and evaluated for promotion levels.
• Operational Excellence: Embrace and implement Lean and Continuous Improvement principles to optimize inspection throughput and department housekeeping.
• Safety Stewardship: Promote and enforce all health, safety, and environmental policies, maintaining a safe and professional workspace at all times.
Qualifications & Requirements
• Education: Bachelor's degree in a related field (or an equivalent combination of 5-8 years of current industry experience).
• Technical Mastery:
oExtensive knowledge of aerospace turbine engine repair processes.
oDetailed knowledge of inspection processes and analytical problem-solving.
oHigh proficiency in reading/interpreting complex specs, manuals, and procedures.
• Supervisory Experience: Proven track record of leading technical teams in a production or repair environment.
• Certifications: * Must be capable of certifying to Level II in at least one NDT discipline.
oExperience with Part 145/21 certification inspections is highly preferred.
oEligible for industry-specific repair certifications (e.g., FAA Repairman).
• Core Skills: Strong computer skills, exceptional organizational abilities, and a high degree of professionalism in customer-facing interactions.
