ENVIRONMENTAL HEALTH & SAFETY MANAGER
CNH America LLC LOCATION: Burlington, IA
Position Requirements
BASIC FUNCTION:
Reporting directly to the Plant Manager, the main responsibility of the Environmental Health & Safety Manager is to implement programs and procedures to ensure regulatory compliance and reduce EH&S hazards in the plant and improve energy efficiency and cost. This role will lead Safety & Environmental World Class Manufacturing and implement WCM systems.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Implement programs / procedures to ensure regulatory compliance and reduce EH&S hazards associated with plant operations in addition to improving energy efficiency and cost
• Lead and managing OHSAS18001 & ISO14001 systems and registration
• Lead both Safety & Environmental World Class Manufacturing technical pillars and implement WCM systems
• Lead and coordinate EHS&E training and communication programs
• Maintain successful relationships with government agencies, neighbors as well as the general public
• Remain current on relevant regulatory requirements and serving as a central technical resource to the plant
• Track and report facility EHS&E performance; internal to the facility, regionally, and throughout FIAT SAD system and providing EHS&E information as required
• Budget and manage resources for EHS&E business function
• Coordinate industrial hygiene sampling and exposure evaluations
• Participate on cross facility EHS&E audits
• Coordinate early equipment/process review and EHS&S buy-off process
• Assist or lead management of facility Occupational Health Unit, Worker's Compensation Program & Risk Management Programs
JOB REQUIREMENTS:
• Bachelor's degree in Safety, Industrial Health, Science, or technical field or equivalent
• Minimum of 5 years of professional experience in an EH&S role in a manufacturing environment.
• Comprehensive knowledge of OSHA, EPA regulations, worker's compensation, and risk management.
• Experience in implementing ergonomic management systems, including performance of ergonomic assessments and training.
• Ability to travel up to 10% of the time.
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to lead change, networking, team building and influencing skills. Excellent computer skills: MS Office suite (Excel, PowerPoint).
• Lean manufacturing experience.
• Experience implementing EHS management systems or related systems.
• Experience implementing OHSAS18001 & ISO14001 management systems.
