Work Schedule:
178-day contract. Hours may be flexible to meet the requirements of the District. Can also be a part-time position.
POSITION SUMMARY
This position is responsible for performing duties associated with the school bus fleet and other miscellaneous tasks.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

Essential Functions Statement(s)

Fuel all buses on a daily or rotating basis as needed to ensure an adequate supply of fuel for scheduled routes and trips.

Fuel trucks and other vehicles assigned to the Transportation Department.

Clean exterior of buses and other school vehicles with power washing equipment.

Park buses in assigned spaces after fueling.

Clean interior of buses and other vehicles with brooms and/or vacuum cleaners and empty waste containers.

Drive buses to deliver students to various locations.

Report suspected bullying to building principal or designee as required by Arkansas law and district policies.

Report to the proper authorities any cases of suspected child endangerment, neglect, or abuse.

Adhere to all policies of the District.

Perform other duties as assigned by the Transportation Director or Assistant Transportation Director.

Licenses:

1. Must have current Arkansas Class B Commercial Drivers License with School Bus Passenger Endorsement.
2. Must have current Arkansas certification for operating fueling equipment and devices.

Other Requirements:
1. Successful completion of pre-employment background checks.
2. Appropriate personal and professional conduct at all times while around students and other staff members.
3. Must successfully pass required DOT drug test.
4. Must have a physical exam on file every two years.
5. Must attend annual bus safety meeting provided by the State of Arkansas.

The work environment for this position is generally in a garage/shop setting with both inside and outside work. The noise level is moderate to high in most situations. Some exposure to extreme heat or cold may be encountered depending on the job assignment and the season of the year.
