Job description

Job Title: Electrical Systems Engineer (Industrial Power Distribution)
Role Overview
We are seeking an Electrical Systems Engineer to join our infrastructure engineering team. In this role, you will be responsible for the integrity of power distribution across large-scale, complex industrial facilities. You will act as a technical steward for our electrical systems, ensuring that power distribution is safe, reliable, and optimized for high-demand operational environments.
This is a dynamic, "hands-on" role. You will bridge the gap between design office engineering and field-level execution. The ideal candidate has a strong foundation in electrical theory, hands-on experience with load analysis software, and a passion for working in active construction and operational environments.
Key Responsibilities
Engineering & System Analysis
• System Design: Execute electrical circuit assignments for complex facility systems. Take ownership of the technical details that keep mission-critical infrastructure running.
• Load Modeling & Validation: Perform rigorous electrical loading analyses for switchboards, distribution boards, and panel boards. Use industry-standard tools (SKM PTW) to validate system performance and ensure reliability.
• Layout & Documentation: Develop and review comprehensive electrical layouts using AutoCAD and BIM/Revit software.
Collaboration & Field Oversight
• Cross-Disciplinary Coordination: Partner with mechanical, structural, and architectural teams to integrate electrical needs into the broader facility design.
• Field Execution: Conduct field-level inspections and system audits. This role requires an engineer who is comfortable in the field-walking sites, climbing to access equipment, and coordinating with onsite construction teams to verify designs are implemented to spec.
• Safety & Standards: Maintain an uncompromising focus on safety and compliance, ensuring that all power distribution systems meet rigorous operational and building code standards.
Qualifications & Requirements
Minimum Qualifications
• Education: Bachelor's or Master of Science Degree in Electrical Engineering.
• Experience Baseline: Minimum of three (3) years of relevant experience in facility-level electrical engineering or power systems design.
• Technical Mastery:
oAnalysis: Proven experience with SKM PTW (or equivalent power analysis software).
oDrafting/Design: Proficiency in AutoCAD.
• Soft Skills: Strong analytical capabilities, excellent teamwork skills, and the ability to articulate complex technical data to non-technical stakeholders.
Preferred Attributes
• Certification: Engineer in Training (EIT) certification.
• Modeling: Experience with Revit or other BIM-based design tools.
• Mindset: A "fast learner" with a growth mindset-someone who is eager to take on larger portions of system design as they master our current infrastructure.
