What You'll Do

As a Staff Assistant for Duke Capital Partners, you will provide high-level administrative support to help ensure efficient daily operations. This role requires exceptional organization, attention to detail, and the ability to handle confidential information while supporting a dynamic entrepreneurial and investment-focused team. Key responsibilities include:

  • Coordinate and schedule meetings and events
  • Coordinate travel arrangements
  • Prepare travel and expense reimbursement reports
  • Order and direct catering
  • Answer and respond to incoming phone calls and emails
  • Work collaboratively with other administrative staff, providing back up support as needed.
  • Assist in the preparation of complex reports, proposals, legal agreements, and other documents requiring the compilation, analysis, and evaluation of data.
  • Review documents received for supervisor; check and compare with source documents and bring significant items, changes, errors, or omissions to the attention of the supervisor.
  • Perform reception duties to greet and direct office visitors.
  • Order and stock office and breakroom supplies.
  • Control and maintain electronic and/or hardcopy files of records, reports, and correspondence required for reference and efficient office operations; Maintain up-to-date procedures, directives, and related records.
  • Assist with human resources duties such as time tracking, recruiting, staff meetings/outings, and performance review scheduling.
  • As assigned, cross-train and assist in completing office operations duties, including but not limited to agreement entry, invoice payment, purchase order requests, website content maintenance, etc.
What You'll Bring

Education Work requires a broad knowledge of clerical and accounting principles and practices normally acquired through two years of post-secondary education in administrative support or a related business field. Experience Work generally requires four years of related secretarial/clerical experience to acquire skills necessary to administer complex office functions related to office management, communications, and budgetary/accounting activities OR AN EQUIVALENT COMBINATION OF RELEVANT EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE Skills Outstanding customer service and interpersonal skills. Strong written and verbal communication abilities. Excellent organization, time management, and attention to detail. Ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining accuracy. Experience working with databases and business systems. Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. Experience with Duke systems and processes is a plus.

Anticipated Pay Range: Duke University provides an annual base salary range for this position as USD $21.20 to USD $31.24.
