Job description

Georgia Military College is in search of a Temporary Full Time Bus Driver.

Primarily drives GMC buses and vehicles to transport students, faculty, and staff personnel to/from activities and events at the discretion of GMC. Position requires an individual to work an irregular schedule and hours. This position is on a temporary basis for a period determined by GMC. At the conclusion of this employment, the employee will be given the option to maintain a role with GMC as a part time Bus Driver, or remain as a full time driver with benefits should a position be available.

This position is not eligible for benefits. 

*Criminal background check and drug screen must be cleared before any candidate may begin working.

Minimum Required:

High School Diploma or GED equivalent, Georgia Commercial Driver’s License with Passenger & School Bus endorsements and air brakes

Preferred Level: CDL trained/certified at Technical School

Minimum Required:  3 yrs. experience driving commercial/charter buses

Preferred Level:  5+ yrs. experience driving charter/commercial buses

Minimum Required:  Ability to troubleshoot basic mechanical issues and be able to work with basic tools to conduct minor repairs on vehicles

Preferred Level:  Experience as a basic mechanic
