Job DescriptionWe are looking to hire a TEMP News Operations Center Operator supporting KNBC and KVEA technical operations in Los Angeles, CA. This role will be freelance in a temporary capacity.
- Coordinate with News assignment desk & editorial staff as well as Media Managers for required newsfeeds via Microwave, Fiber, Satellite, and Cellular bonded news systems and future technology.
- Operate complex ENG microwave control systems, satellite systems, CBNG systems, and beauty camera systems.
- Perform Quality control on all ingested feeds including Video, Audio, Microphone levels, and IFB operation.
- Coordinate feed routing to studio control rooms.
- Coordinate IFB assignments to field crews and Helicopter via RTS and 450 radio"
- Minimum 3 years’ experience in Network Operation Center / Technical Operation Center or the equivalent.
- Minimum 3 years’ experience with digital microwave transmission systems
- In-depth knowledge Electronic News Gathering and Digital Satellite News Gathering operations
- Knowledge and experience in remote control Electronic News Gathering control systems
- Familiarity with digital video communication systems

- This position is covered under a collective bargaining agreement between the Company and the National Association of Broadcast Employees and Technicians Union (NABET).
