Job description

Pyrite Contractors, Inc. is seeking an experienced Superintendent to join our team in Romulus, MI.

About the role:

This is a temporary position supporting the final closeout and turnover phase of an active construction project. The selected candidate will coordinate and track all remaining punch list work through to completion, serve as a point of contact for the incoming owner during their move-in process, and facilitate a smooth handover to the landlord. Responsibilities include scheduling and following up on subcontractor punch work, documenting project closeout activities, and providing general assistance to ownership as needed through occupancy. The position is expected to last approximately four (4) months and will conclude upon successful project turnover.

What you’ll do:

  • Responsible for the oversight of the following project work
  • Responsible for overall supervision of construction effort, which includes: productivity of crafts, efficient use of materials and equipment, materials management, scheduling, engineering, and contractual performance of the project.
  • Responsible for ensuring contractual subcontractor compliance on designated construction-related activities.
  • Build effective client and subcontractor relationships. Interface with client representatives, A/E representatives, and other contractors.
  • Complete daily field reports and takes daily pictures to document construction progress.
  • Assess future work activities and identify any concerns with work plans by utilizing subcontractors' 2-week look ahead report.
  • Direct and manage subcontractors as necessary to comply with the established project schedule, and track and verify sub progress on an installed quantity and work hour basis.

Requirements:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Minimum 7 years of construction superintendent experience.
  • Must have excellent communication skills, strong leadership skills, and strong safety background.
  • Computer proficiency in Microsoft
  • Must have previous Tenant Improvement experience.
