Job description

We are hiring for a Forklift Operator and general warehouse associates (Metal Processors) at our facility in Gilberts, Illinois. Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred. In this position you will be working both indoors and outside in all weather. We are looking for an experienced forklift operator. The ideal candidate must also be willing to help sort and process materials when forklift operations are not needed.ย 

Responsibilities:

  • Safe operation of forklift (Experience Required)
  • Sorting and processing scrap material
  • Assist in unloading and weighing up material.
  • Completes forklift certification through Elgin Recycling
  • Become proficient on the material we purchase within our industry
  • Maintain positive work relations
  • Adhering to company policies in the area of safety, health, environment and community
  • Maintain a clean work station at all times
  • Act as a team player with all other employees
  • All other duties assigned

Physical Demands

  • Responsibilities primarily performed by standing / walking 90% of the time
  • Sitting is required for the remaining 10% of the time
  • Ability to lift and carry materials and equipment up to 50 pounds
  • Normal range of vision, depth perception and hearing is needed
  • Ability to bend, stoop and reach above the shoulders is required
  • The ability to work in both extreme heat and cold weather conditions is required

Hours of Availability

The ideal candidate for this position must have an open availability, is expected to work at least 32 hours per week for a full-time position, overtime is not guaranteed.ย  The candidate must be available to work Monday through Friday, 6am to 4:30pm.ย
