Job description

Job Description: Reeves County Library is seeking a Temporary Digital Literacy Program Assistant to support the LIFI Digital Literacy Program, a grant-funded initiative through the Texas State Library and Archives Commission (TSLAC). The program provides digital literacy training to community members, building confidence and skills with computers, internet-connected devices, and online services.

The assistant will support instructors, participants, and project partners during the delivery of digital literacy workshops and instructional activities.

Responsibilities

• Assist with implementation of digital literacy workshops and training sessions.

• Provide participant support during classroom instruction and hands-on technology activities.

• Help community members with computer basics, internet navigation, email, online applications, and digital resources.

• Manage participant registration, check-in, attendance tracking, and program documentation.

• Prepare classrooms, computer labs, and instructional materials before training sessions.

• Support instructors and program partners during digital literacy activities.

• Provide basic troubleshooting for computers, tablets, and digital devices.

• Collect data and maintain records required for grant reporting and evaluation.

• Assist library staff with general public service duties as needed.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.

• 1+ year of customer service, community support, or technology assistance experience.

• Strong verbal communication skills.

• Basic proficiency with computers, internet, and mobile devices.

• Ability to maintain accurate records and work independently.

• Ability to communicate effectively with diverse community members.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience in a library, school, or educational setting.

• Bilingual English/Spanish (strongly preferred).

Schedule

• Evening availability preferred: Tuesday and Wednesday, 6:00 PM – 8:00 PM (for session shutdown and closing support).

• Additional daytime hours as needed based on program schedule.
