Berglund Ford in Salem, VA is looking for skilled and motivated Diesel Technicians / Diesel Mechanics to join our growing service department. Job Responsibilities

As a Diesel Technician, you will play a vital role in diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining diesel trucks to the highest manufacturer and dealership standards. Responsibilities include:

  • Perform maintenance and repairs on diesel trucks and vehicles according to manufacturer specifications

  • Diagnose and repair complex diesel engine systems, fuel systems, emissions systems, and drivetrains

  • Use diagnostic equipment and specialized tools to identify issues accurately

  • Test-drive vehicles and verify all repairs are completed properly

  • Communicate with Service Advisors to explain needed repairs and provide accurate time estimates

  • Execute warranty repairs according to Ford and manufacturer guidelines

  • Maintain a safe, clean, and organized work environment


Requirements
  • Proven experience as a Diesel Technician / Diesel Mechanic (Ford experience a plus)

  • Strong knowledge of diesel engines, fuel injection, emissions systems, and diagnostic equipment

  • High school diploma or equivalent; technical or vocational training preferred

  • Valid Driver’s License and clean driving record required

  • Strong attention to detail, problem-solving ability, and commitment to safety

  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills
