Objective:

Technician repairs and services Heavy/Large Capacity material handling equipment such as but not limited to Taylor, Toyota Pettibone, Combilift, etc. This would include but not limited to diesel/ gas and LP engine, transmission, hydraulic, electrical troubleshooting and repairs according to manufactures specifications, using hand tools and power tools. Technician will disassemble unit and examine condition, movement, or alignment of parts visually or using gauges. The technician will replace defective parts using, truck mounted crane hand tools, arbor press, flexible power press, and power tools as needed. Technician will then reassemble unit and test operation.

Technician responsibilities include:

  • Repair of Heavy Duty Forklifts such as Taylor, Toyota THD, Hyster, Yale, Genie, JCB, JLG, Pettibone, Moffet, Princeton. Telehandlers, Boom Lifts, Container Handlers, Scissor Lifts, Straddle Carriers, ATV's, etc.
  • Travel to customer location in company provided service vehicle to effect repairs onsite. Keeps customers informed of progress.
  • Perform routine scheduled preventative maintenance on equipment (oil changes, filter changes, pressure checks, inspection forms, etc.) Submitting repair quotes.
  • Diagnose diesel & propane engine codes, transmission issues, DEF system diagnosis. Diesel Fuel injection diag. LP regulators.
  • Replace or rebuild engines (Cummins, Toyota, Perkins, Caterpillar, GM Vortec, Kohler,etc.)
  • Diagnose & repair hydraulic systems, repack cylinders, replace hoses & hard lines, pumps, valves, etc.
  • General electrical system repairs. Horns, starters, alternators, lights, etc. Repair of 6, 12, 24, 36, 48 volts systems.
  • Repairs/replaces and adjusts subassemblies & attachments such as fork positioners, side shift assemblies, pallet clamps, gantries, limit switches, proximity sensors, etc.
  • Heavy equipment transport prep. R/R carriage assemblies.
  • Cummins Insite and other diesel diagnostic programs.
  • Maintains repair trucks equipment & parts stock. Observes warranty repair procedures (documents, pictures, core returns)
  • Technician will to track their time each day per repair, making sureappropriate customer is invoiced correctly.
  • Ability to complete job duties in a state of alertness and safe manner
  • Additional job duties as assigned

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent
  • Highly skilled and mechanical knowledge
  • Diesel engine andKnowledge on Cummins insightexperience a plus
