Job description

BigFoot Staffing is hiring for a hybrid Equipment Delivery Driver / Mechanic role with a well-established Central Oregon company in a temp-to-hire role. This position is ideal for someone who enjoys a mix of driving, hands-on mechanical work, and customer interaction. The role combines local equipment deliveries with maintenance and repair responsibilities on a variety of construction and rental equipment.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver and pick up equipment throughout Central Oregon safely and professionally
  • Operate light-duty diesel trucks with trailers
  • Secure and transport equipment safely according to company and DOT standards
  • Perform preventative maintenance and basic repairs on equipment
  • Inspect equipment before and after rentals or deliveries
  • Troubleshoot mechanical issues involving small engines, hydraulics, trailers, and compact equipment
  • Assist with loading and unloading equipment in the yard
  • Maintain accurate delivery paperwork and service records
  • Communicate professionally with customers at jobsites and delivery locations
  • Support general shop and yard organization as needed


Qualifications

  • Clean driving record required
  • Experience towing trailers and operating diesel pickup trucks
  • Mechanical aptitude with equipment, diesel systems, or small engines
  • Ability to safely load, unload, and secure equipment
  • Strong work ethic with dependable attendance
  • Comfortable working independently and within a small team environment
  • Ability to lift 50+ lbs and work outdoors in varying weather conditions
  • Valid driver’s license required


Preferred Experience

  • $25 - $33 an hour DOE
  • Equipment delivery or towing experience
  • Trailer backing and maneuvering skills
  • Preventative maintenance and repair experience
  • Familiarity with skid steers, mini excavators, generators, trailers, or compact construction equipment
  • Previous experience in construction, equipment rental, diesel, agricultural, or mechanic environments
