Location: Nashville, TN
Job Type: Travel Contract
Duration: 16 weeks
Shift: 3×12 Days
Pay: $2,143.44/week
Completion Bonus: $2,500 per contract (up to $7,500 after three contracts)
Position Overview
ATC Healthcare is seeking an experienced Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit (CVICU) Registered Nurse (RN) for a 16-week travel assignment in Nashville, Tennessee. This role involves caring for high-acuity cardiac patients including post-cardiac surgery, myocardial infarction, cardiogenic shock, arrhythmias, and advanced heart failure.
This contract requires a non-negotiable start date of December 15, and the nurse must work 1 of the 2 major holidays during the assignment. Travelers may float to units or facilities within a 35-mile radius depending on staffing and census needs.
Key Responsibilities
  • Deliver comprehensive critical care nursing to adult cardiovascular patients requiring continuous hemodynamic monitoring and advanced interventions.
  • Manage complex cardiac conditions including MI, CHF exacerbation, cardiogenic shock, cardiomyopathy, arrhythmias, and post-cardiac arrest.
  • Monitor and analyze cardiac rhythms, titrate vasoactive medications, and operate hemodynamic monitoring devices.
  • Manage ventilators, arterial lines, central lines, and other critical care equipment.
  • Provide care to immediate post-open-heart patients (S/P cardiac surgery) according to CVICU protocols.
  • Participate in rapid response and code situations; perform emergency interventions promptly.
  • Float to additional units or nearby facilities within a 35-mile radius as required.
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to support optimal patient outcomes.
  • Complete all required Ascension onboarding items including EKG exam, Cerner test-out, core competencies, and health screenings.
  • Document all assessments, medications, interventions, and patient responses accurately in the EMR.

Qualifications
  • Active RN license (any state acceptable-can obtain temp license on offer).
  • Minimum 2 years of recent ICU or CVICU experience strongly preferred.
  • Certifications required: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS.
  • Strong experience with cardiac rhythm interpretation, vasoactive medication titration, ventilator management, and advanced critical care procedures.
  • Must work 1 of the 2 holidays during contract.
  • Must float to other units or facilities within 35 miles when required.
  • Must complete Ascension onboarding requirements (EKG exam, Cerner test-out, 12-panel drug screen, immunizations, etc.).
  • Two professional references required.
  • Must meet compliance requirements including rapid lab work, health screens, and background checks.
  • Proof of COVID-19 vaccination and recent tuberculosis test required.
