The Role:

We are seeking a Revenue Operations Analyst to join our Finance Department on a one-year contract. In this role, you will support H2Safety's revenue accounting cycle by managing project setup, client budgeting, quoting, invoicing, revenue reporting, and profitability analysis. Working closely with Finance, Operations, and Project Managers, you will help ensure accurate revenue recognition, billing accuracy, financial compliance, and timely financial reporting.


This position requires strong accounting and analytical skills, excellent attention to detail, and experience supporting project-based financial operations within a professional services environment. The successful candidate will be able to work independently while collaborating effectively across departments to support efficient financial processes, informed business decisions, and exceptional client service.


Required Education, Experience & Credentials

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Commerce or Business Administration.
  • 3 years of experience supporting project accounting, revenue accounting, billing.
  • Extensive knowledge in MS Excel; proficient in other MS Office applications, preferred experience using ERP or project accounting systems such as Dynamics 365, Access database, QuickBooks or similar.


Required Knowledge, Skills & Competencies

  • Knowledge of Revenue recognition, variance analysis and Month-end close support.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet tight deadlines.
  • Proficiency in data analysis tools and techniques to extract insights from financial data, generate reports, and communicate findings to stakeholders for informed decision-making.
  • Possesses a high level of attention to detail to ensure accuracy in financial calculations, budgeting, and invoicing processes to minimize errors and discrepancies.
  • Excellent analytical, decision-making, and problem-solving skills.
  • High level of initiative and self-motivation
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision and collaboratively in cross-functional teams, interacting across the organization at all levels


Key Duties and Responsibilities:

Revenue Accounting

  • Ensure revenue is recognized in accordance with company policies and applicable accounting standards.
  • Perform monthly revenue reconciliations and investigate revenue variances, resolving discrepancies in a timely manner.
  • Support month-end, quarter-end and year-end close activities related to revenue accounting.
  • Maintain accurate revenue schedules and support documentation.
  • Assist with revenue reporting and profitability analysis for projects and clients.


Oversee Client Budgeting and Project Setup

  • Collaborate with Operations and Project Managers to establish client budgets, validate approved budgets, billing terms, revenue schedules, and project financial structures within the project management system.
  • Monitor project profitability, revenue, billings, and budget performance by analyzing financial results and reconciling project data with ERP and financial systems.


Manage Client Quoting and Invoicing Processes

  • Prepare and review client quotes for accuracy, ensuring compliance with the company's delegation of authority and pricing approval processes.
  • Collaborate with Operations and Project Managers to obtain approved client quotes or purchase orders prior to project commencement or as required by contractual terms.
  • Ensure that client invoices are submitted in line with purchase order (PO) requirements and address any invoicing issues in a timely manner.
  • Build effective working relationships with clients by providing timely invoicing support, resolving billing inquiries and delivering accurate financial information.


Ensure Accurate Financial Reporting and Compliance

  • Liaise with the Operations team to ensure accurate allocation of Labour, time and expenses to client projects prior to invoicing.
  • Maintain and manage reports for year-over-year revenue and profitability analysis by customer and project on a monthly basis, ensuring compliance with H2Safety's profitability and delegation of authority processes.


Support Internal and External Stakeholders

  • Develop strong working relationships with Project Managers and Operations to ensure timely billing, accurate project financials and deliverables are met.
  • Resolve billing, invoicing and collections inquiries promptly while ensuring compliance with H2Safety's credit and financial policies.
