Adjunct Faculty - Disaster Preparedness and Emergency Management

The Program in Disaster Science, Emergency Management & Homeland Security within the Department of Sociology & Anthropology in the Ric Edelman College of Communication, Humanities & Social Sciences at Rowan University seeks applicants for a talent pool of candidates for adjunct instructors to fill adjunct teaching positions as they become available, with a minimum of one course with a maximum of two courses per semester. Typical undergraduate courses will include: Introduction to Emergency Management & Homeland Security, Research Methods, Borders and Ports of Entry, Homeland Security, Critical Infrastructure, Incident Command, and upper-division courses. Sample graduate courses include: All-Hazards Threat Response Management, Cybersecurity, Cyber Defense, Advanced Exercise Design, and Public Budgeting and Finance in Emergency Management.
Candidates must have earned a master's degree or beyond, from a regionally accredited university, in emergency management, public administration, public health, management, or related field deemed necessary to meet the program's needs. Experience in the field is desirable.
A terminal degree is expected for graduate-level teaching.

In compliance with The State of New Jersey's Pay Transparency Act, and in accordance with the current MOA, Rowan University adjuncts are provided with a minimum of $2,225 per credit for all courses taught, with a maximum teaching load of 8 credits per semester and 12 credits in an academic year. Courses will be assigned to instructors by College/School & Department on an as-needed basis.
