Job description

AMI has an exciting cross training opportunity for Technologists interested in MRI! Experienced Technologist? New graduate? If you are interested in becoming an MRI Technologist, this is a great opportunity to train and prepare in a growing, innovative outpatient imaging facility. AMI's comprehensive training program will prepare you as you embark on a new career path and prepare to take the ARRT MR boards.

Offered rates increase based on years of work experience.
Training for this position will prepare you for the role of MRI Technologist. The responsibilities of the MRI Technologist include, but are not limited to:
  • Operating all aspects of MR scanning unit, incorporating extensive knowledge of system's computer and all program modalities to perform scanning procedures and transfer images to film or software for interpretation;
  • Evaluating screening to ensure patient safety in the magnetic field;
  • Consulting with the Radiologist and implementing proper scanning protocols as directed;
  • Completing daily work schedule, documenting in Zotec and on any required forms;
  • Monitoring patient flow and accommodating unscheduled patients and add-on studies;
  • As per office policy, performing all quality control testing, equipment calibrations, warm-up and shut down procedures with proper documentation;
  • Advising the Chief Technologist/Office Administrator of the need for all maintenance, service and repair work;
  • Participating in office meetings, in-service programs, continuing education programs and other designated activity;
  • Responding to office codes, policies and procedures to ensure optimum patient, employee, visitor and physical plant safety and security;
  • Demonstrating competency in dealing with patients in all age categories: neonatal, pediatric, adolescent, adult and geriatric; and
  • Performing all other duties as required and assigned.

This full time, 40 hour per week position includes varying shift times Monday-Friday with rotating evenings & weekends. This position will provide coverage and receive training in the AMI offices in Galloway, Egg Harbor Township, Somers Point, Northfield, Hammonton, Cape May Court House, and Manahawkin.
Candidates for this position must be a current or upcoming graduate of an AMA-approved school of Radiologic Technology, Ultrasound or accredited MRI program; registered or registry-eligible by the American Registry of Radiologic Technology (ARRT). Registered ARDMS Technologists must have professional scanning experience for consideration. Current and valid American Heart Association or Red Cross Basic Life Support certification is required prior to start of employment. Candidates must be willing to receive training and certification in venipuncture for the injection of contrast media via butterfly needle and IV catheter. In-house training will be provided. Must be willing to complete the MRI Cross Training program in accordance with the Cross Training Agreement, and successfully achieve the ARRT MRI registry.
Exceptional communication skills, including interpersonal, verbal, and written, are necessary for success in this position. Candidates must demonstrate a patient-focused and team-centered approach to the role, along with a commitment to the entire patient experience.
