What is a temporary CRNA?

Temporary CRNAs are Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetists who are hired on a short-term or contract basis to provide anesthesia care in various healthcare settings. They perform the same duties as permanent CRNAs, such as administering anesthesia, monitoring patients during procedures, and ensuring patient safety. These temporary roles often fill gaps due to staff shortages, leaves of absence, or increased patient demand, and may require flexibility to work in different locations.

What are some common challenges faced by temporary CRNAs when joining new healthcare facilities?

Temporary CRNAs often encounter challenges such as quickly adapting to unfamiliar protocols, electronic health records, and team dynamics at new facilities.
