TheAssessment Specialist is responsible for supporting the implementation of district and state assessments. This includes collaborating with School Assessment Coordinators as well as district staff to ensure successful assessment administration that follows student data privacy and state testing regulations. This position also helps maintain district and state data dashboards. This includes uploading data, pulling reports, and creating data visualizations in collaboration with the Research, Evaluation, and Assessment Director.

Assessment Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate district and state testing processes and ensure district compliance with all laws, regulations, and rules related to data privacy and State Accountability Testing
  • Provide support and assistance to all schools to address testing needs and concerns
  • Train Principals, School Assessment Coordinators, and other staff who are responsible for test administration on processes and procedures
  • Set up and maintain online systems for district and state assessment
  • Work with Student Services to ensure appropriate handling of testing accommodations
  • Support the REA Director in the management of district and state data dashboards by uploading data, pulling reports, and collaborating on data visualizations
  • Continually learn and stay current with changing laws and rules impacting student testing and assessments by attending webinars, training, and seminars
  • Other duties as assigned

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in related field
  • Knowledge of best practices in educational assessment
  • Knowledge of best practice in partnership and volunteer management
  • Demonstrated positive and effective working relationships with staff, parents, and the community
  • Demonstrated understanding of own identity, intercultural competence, and ability to collaborate effectively across difference
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Demonstrated ability to collaborate with a variety of stakeholders
  • Demonstrated proficiency in technology software skills (spreadsheets, online assessment platform management, student information systems, data visualization and reporting, etc.)
  • Ability to work on multiple projects and prioritize work
  • Self-starter with the ability to take initiative and open to feedback
  • Ability to work independently

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Prior experience in administering and/or supporting district and state assessments
  • Prior experience managing data sets and/or data dashboards
