YOUR DAY TO DAY:
The Capital Projects Coordinator supports the planning, scheduling, maintenance/repair, and execution of capital expenditure (CapEx) projects across the facility. This role is designed for a hands-on professional with maintenance mechanic experience who understands industrial equipment, facility systems, and safe work practices. The coordinator assists in scoping jobs, preparing equipment areas, coordinating contractors, tracking progress, and ensuring all work follows established safety and lockout/tagout procedures. This position serves as the operational bridge between maintenance, facilities, engineering, and external vendors, ensuring capital projects are executed efficiently, safely, and with minimal disruption to production.
YOU WILL BE ACCOUNTABLE FOR:
1. Project Coordination & Field Support
- Assist in planning and coordinating CapEx projects including equipment installations, relocations, and facility upgrades.
- Prepare job sites, verify utilities, review safety requirements, and support equipment shutdown/startup.
- Apply maintenance mechanic experience to validate equipment installation, alignment, anchoring, hookups, and operational readiness.
2. Contractor & Vendor Support
- Coordinate on-site contractor activities including scheduling, work oversight, and equipment testing.
- Provide practical guidance on equipment handling, facility practices, and safe work areas.
- Ensure compliance with lockout/tagout and other safety procedures.
3. Safety & Compliance
- Support adherence to facility safety rules including LOTO, PPE, and fall protection.
- Perform pre-task reviews and ensure proper hazard controls are in place.
- Monitor work areas for safe execution of tasks.
4. Project Documentation & Tracking
- Maintain project schedules, status logs, and documentation.
- Coordinate equipment testing post-installation and ensure proper handoff to operators or technicians.
- Organize quotes, invoices, drawings, manuals, and close-out documentation.
5. Budget & Procurement Support
- Assist in obtaining quotes and preparing cost comparisons.
- Support PR submissions and track expenditures against approved budgets.
6. Communication & Cross-Team Support
- Serve as liaison among maintenance, engineering, facilities, EH&S, and operations.
- Provide daily updates on project progress, risks, and schedule changes.
- Communicate equipment impacts and required internal support.
7. Maintenance & Repair
- Assist skilled tradespeople with routine maintenance and repair tasks
- Perform general building support including carpentry, basic repairs, furniture relocation, and equipment moves
- Conduct painting and touch-up work throughout the facility
- Complete preventative maintenance assignments as directed
Perform other duties as needed and assigned
YOU ARE THE RIGHT PERSON FOR THIS JOB IF YOU HAVE:
Required:
  • High school diploma or GED required
  • 2+ years of industrial maintenance mechanic, millwright, or facilities technician experience.
  • Experience with equipment installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, or repair.
  • Working knowledge of LOTO and equipment testing processes.
  • Strong organizational and coordination skills.
  • Ability to read mechanical, electrical, or facility drawings.
  • Ability to lift up to 40 lbs on a regular basis

Preferred:
  • Experience coordinating contractors or supporting capital projects.
  • Familiarity with industrial utilities, rigging, and equipment foundations.
  • Understanding of procurement processes and capital equipment justification.
  • Experience with CMMS or project tracking tools.

  • This role requires access to export-controlled information, subject to the ITAR and EAR, for which the company will not pursue an export license/license exception. Must be a US person (i.e., U.S. citizens, permanent residents, and other protected individuals) to be eligible for this role.

Salary Range: $25.00 - $35.00 / hour
