Job description

About the Role:

The Security Officer plays a critical role in maintaining the safety and security of personnel, property, and information within various environments. This position involves monitoring access points, conducting regular patrols, and responding promptly to incidents or emergencies to prevent security breaches. The Security Officer ensures compliance with established security protocols and collaborates with law enforcement or emergency services when necessary. By utilizing technology and communication tools effectively, the officer supports a secure and orderly environment. Ultimately, this role contributes to the protection of assets and the well-being of all individuals on site.

Schedule:

CSIS has multiple schedules open based on location and job site. (Day, Swing and Night shift.)

Minimum Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Prior experience as a security guard or in a related security role.
  • Basic proficiency with computer systems and wireless communication technology.
  • Ability to perform physical tasks such as climbing stairs and repetitive motions.
  • Strong oral communication skills to interact clearly with team members and the public.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Certification in security or law enforcement training programs.
  • Experience with advanced access control systems and surveillance technology.
  • First aid and CPR certification.
  • Familiarity with emergency response procedures and protocols.
  • Additional language skills to communicate with diverse populations.

Required Qualifications:

  • Posses a valid BSIS Guard Card.
  • Posses a valid CA issued Driver's License (for some positions.)

Responsibilities:

  • Monitor and control access to facilities using access control systems to ensure only authorized personnel enter.
  • Conduct routine patrols of assigned areas, including climbing stairs and inspecting premises to detect and deter suspicious activities.
  • Operate wireless communication devices and radios to maintain constant contact with team members and report incidents.
  • Respond promptly and effectively to alarms, emergencies, or security breaches, following established protocols.
  • Maintain detailed logs and reports of daily activities, incidents, and observations for record-keeping and review.
