Job Description

As a Security Officer - General Duty in Columbia, SC, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Food/Beverage, and more. As an Unarmed Patrol Officer at a food and beverage location, you will monitor and patrol assigned areas, maintain a visible presence to help deter security-related incidents, and support a welcoming environment for employees, visitors, and operations. You will communicate professionally, report observations, and deliver exceptional customer service while reflecting Allied Universal's agile, reliable, innovative, caring, team-oriented, and integrity-driven values.

Pay Rate: $17.00 / Hour

Job Schedule:

Day Time

Mon 08:00 AM - 04:00 PM

Tue 08:00 AM - 04:00 PM

Wed 08:00 AM - 04:00 PM

Thur 08:00 AM - 04:00 PM

Sun 08:00 AM - 04:00 PM

What You'll Do:

  • Provide customer service to clients, visitors, and delivery personnel by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities at a food and beverage distribution location.
  • Respond to incidents, access concerns, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, notifying appropriate site contacts and/or emergency services as directed.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols of the facility, parking areas, loading docks, delivery entrances, and perimeter to help identify unusual activity and potential concerns.
  • Monitor access points and check credentials for authorized employees, contractors, vendors, and delivery personnel in accordance with site procedures.
  • Document patrols, incidents, observations, and security-related activities in required reports and logs.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only.
