Temporary Inventory Laborer

Reports to

Warehouse Manager, Controller

Classification

Non-Exempt

Job Purpose

We are seeking an experienced Inventory Laborer to support a construction-focused, special project. This is a temporary, part-time/full-time role, requiring hands-on inventory counting and ERP data entry, in a job-cost and material-driven environment. The ideal candidate has strong construction inventory experience, understands material flow between warehouses and job-sites, and maintains high accuracy during fast-paced field operations.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Load, unload, and move materials throughout the yard or job site
  • Assist with re‐palletizing, staging, and organizing materials
  • Perform site cleanup, including debris removal, sweeping, and maintaining clear walkways
  • Support skilled trades by holding materials, prepping work areas, and transporting tools
  • Conduct inventory counts, including identifying items, recording quantities, tagging materials, and reporting discrepancies
  • Follow all safety protocols, including PPE use and hazard awareness
  • Help maintain an orderly yard layout by stacking, sorting, and labeling materials
  • Perform physical tasks such as lifting, carrying, bending, and working outdoors in varying conditions
  • Communicate with supervisors to ensure tasks are completed efficiently and safely

Required Qualifications

  • Reliable transportation
  • Ability to lift 50+ lbs and perform physical labor for extended periods
  • Must follow all site safety rules and wear required PPE
  • Prior construction or yard experience preferred but not required
  • Ability to take direction and work independently or as part of a team

Preferred Qualifications

  •  Experience in the construction industry (commercial, residential, civil, or specialty trades)
  • Familiarity with Sage 300 Construction and Real Estate (CRE)
  • Knowledge of job cost accounting and material cost tracking
  • Experience working with multi-site inventories and field operations

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work

This is a full-time position. Days and hours of work are Monday through Friday, 7:00 am through 4:00 pm, 40 hours per week or as required. Occasional evening and weekend work may be required as job duties demand.
