Job description

Job Summary
The Skilled Laborer position performs advanced, hands-on construction, remodeling, and site-support tasks that require technical proficiency, tool operation, and minimal supervision.
Key Responsibilities
  • Construction & Remodeling: Perform framing, demolition, drywall installation, flooring, tile work, concrete and basic finish carpentry.
  • Tool & Equipment Operation: Safely operate power tools, hand tools, and some heavy machinery (e.g., saws, drills, jackhammers).
  • Trade Support: Assist electricians, plumbers, and other specialized subcontractors with installations and site prep.
  • Material Handling: Load, unload, and transport building materials to correct work areas across the site. Prepare and clean job sites by removing debris, hazardous materials, and obstructions
  • Load, unload, and transport construction materials, tools, and equipment
  • Assist skilled tradespeople including carpenters, electricians, and plumbers
  • Erect and dismantle scaffolding, shoring, braces, and temporary structures
  • Operate hand tools and basic power tools (shovels, jackhammers, drills, etc.)
  • Mix, pour, and spread concrete, asphalt, or other materials
  • Follow all OSHA safety standards and company safety protocols
  • Maintain tools and equipment in clean, working condition
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the foreman or site supervisor

Skills & Abilities
  • Ability to lift up to 75 lbs repeatedly and perform strenuous physical labor
  • Comfortable working outdoors in varying weather conditions
  • Basic understanding of construction site safety practices
  • Ability to follow verbal and written instructions
  • Reliable, punctual, and strong work ethic
  • Ability to work well on a team

Physical Requirements
  • Standing, walking, bending, and kneeling for extended periods
  • Working at heights (ladders, scaffolding)
  • Exposure to dust, noise, and outdoor elements
