Job Summary
The Construction Laborer performs a variety of physical tasks to support construction projects from groundbreaking through completion. This role requires stamina, attention to safety, and the ability to work effectively as part of a crew on commercial job sites.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and clean job sites by removing debris, hazardous materials, and obstructions
- Load, unload, and transport construction materials, tools, and equipment
- Assist skilled tradespeople including carpenters, electricians, and plumbers
- Erect and dismantle scaffolding, shoring, braces, and temporary structures
- Operate hand tools and basic power tools (shovels, jackhammers, drills, etc.)
- Mix, pour, and spread concrete, asphalt, or other materials
- Follow all OSHA safety standards and company safety protocols
- Maintain tools and equipment in clean, working condition
- Perform other duties as assigned by the foreman or site supervisor
Skills & Abilities
- Ability to lift up to 75 lbs repeatedly and perform strenuous physical labor
- Comfortable working outdoors in varying weather conditions
- Basic understanding of construction site safety practices
- Ability to follow verbal and written instructions
- Reliable, punctual, and strong work ethic
- Ability to work well on a team
Physical Requirements
- Standing, walking, bending, and kneeling for extended periods
- Working at heights (ladders, scaffolding)
- Exposure to dust, noise, and outdoor elements
