Job description

About the role
Put your maintenance skills to work in a dynamic health and fitness environment where no two days are the same!
HealthFitness is seeking a full-time Temporary Maintenance Technician to join our team at Advocate Condell Centre Club, managed by HealthFitness in Libertyville, IL. In this hands-on role, you'll help keep the facility operating smoothly through general maintenance, repairs, and preventative upkeep. Duties include drywall repairs, facility walkthroughs, light bulb replacements, handyman tasks, and supporting building systems such as plumbing, HVAC, pools, elevators, and fire alarms.
Schedule
  • Temporary, 40 hours per week, beginning as soon as possible through the end of December, with potential for extension
  • 8-hour shifts scheduled between 4:30 AM and 3:00 PM
  • Occasional weekend shifts required

Operates, repairs, and maintains power, heat, plumbing and/or cooling distribution systems including all pools, as well as systems for the safe and proper operation of elevators and fire alarm systems. Also performs assigned general maintenance tasks as required.
Key Accountabilities
  • Perform routine and preventative cleaning and maintenance throughout the facility. Including, but not limited to: preventative maintenance of boiler, glycol, and HVAC systems, preventative maintenance of fitness equipment, and basic painting and building repairs including basic drywall.
  • Perform routine cleaning and maintenance of outside areas including trash pickup, and limited amount of basic grounds-keeping.
  • Perform regular building checks. Identify, document, and communicate safety or security issues and assist with correction.
  • Maintain detailed records of all tasks assigned and completed.
  • Assist with inventory of building supplies including pool chemicals.
  • Assist with research on products and equipment to improve ability to assure cleanliness and maintenance of the facility.
  • Other duties as needed/assigned.

Minimum Requirements
  • 1-2 years or more of experience working in a general maintenance role.
  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • Basic knowledge of computer systems and ability to use Microsoft Word and Excel.
  • Knowledge of and ability to follow OSHA standards and MSDS regulations.
  • Must be able to walk up and down stairs and stand for up to 80% of shift.

Preferred
  • Degree from a college or trade school.

The compensation range for this role is $27.00 - $30.00 per hour. The final wage offer will be determined based on factors such as location, qualifications, experience, skill set, and other relevant factors.
