Position Summary Information
Primary Purpose
The Exam Proctor is a temporary, part-time, non-benefit eligible position which includes the option of evening and weekend work. This position provides exam proctoring of students for assessments, quizzes, and final exams as scheduled. Proctors sign up online for exam slots on a first-come, first-serve basis according to date and times the proctors are available to work. There is no minimum or maximum number of hours per semester in which a proctor must and/or will be scheduled work. Proctor positions are for one (1) academic semester and may be renewed as needed.
Essential Functions
  • Duties include, but are not limited to, the following:
  • Interact with examinees (students).
  • Assist with test administration.
  • Assist in checking in or out examinees.
  • Follow all written and oral directions provided by the Faculty Support Office or the Office of Student Affairs.
  • Organize, distribute and collect all test materials as directed by the Faculty Support Office or the Office of Student Affairs.
  • Maintain test security to ensure confidentiality, integrity of test materials, and test procedures
  • Lift or transport test materials to/from testing room from/to the Faculty Support Office (with hand truck).
  • Maintain a professional and pleasant atmosphere to create an environment for optimal test performance for all examinees.
Minimum Qualifications
  • High School diploma or G.E.D.
  • Must be at least 18 years of age.

  • Provide excellent, professional customer service and possess strong people skills.
  • Have the ability to effectively communicate both verbally and in writing and follow written instructions.
  • Work in a team atmosphere with frequent interruptions.
  • Work effectively with a diverse population.

  • Be comfortable with dealing with difficult situations.
  • Be on time and dependable as reliability is essential
  • Intermediate computer skills required.
  • Experience and sensitivity in working with people of diverse backgrounds and cultures.

  • Ability to engage and integrate culturally responsive practices and knowledge in their work.
